2018 - 2019 PTO Officers
President – Kimberly Shoulders
I am mom to twin boys who are in the 4th grade and wife of 26 years to SFC Frank Shoulders, who is a Military Technician stationed at Fort Jackson.
Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, I worked for Family Connection of SC for 5+ years as a NICU Parent Partner. I continue my work for them in a volunteer position. My family served as the ambassador family for the March of Dimes and I frequently speak with corporations and groups to raise awareness about the MOD.
I am a football enthusiast, (Go Pack Go!), a singer and crafter. Our family loves to travel, go camping and fishing whenever we can.
It’s going to be a great year at East Point Academy and I’m excited to be a part of the PTO.
Vice President – Patty Davis
I am currently the Ultrasound Department Manager for Kraemer Women’s Care where I have been employed for the past seven years. I have enjoyed a career as a Medical sonographer for 19 years, am a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. I have Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Radford University and am a graduate of Palmetto School of Ultrasound.
I am the mother of a nine-year-old who is entering the fourth grade and has been a proud East Point Academy panda since first grade. I have been on the Chinese New Year Gala committee since my son first joined East Point Academy. His father, Steve Styron, and I have been married for over 22 years. I have spent most of my adult life and childhood involved the Equestrian community in my native state of Florida and here in South Carolina as a competitor, organizer, volunteer and at times, instructor. While I no longer compete, our animal family still includes two horses and a donkey, as well as our dog and cat.
My family and I enjoy anything that gives us an excuse to be outdoors. We love to bike, kayak, fish, waterski, snorkel, snow ski and hike. We spend a good bit of our spare time camping, boating and exploring at South Carolina’s and Florida’s coastal state parks as well as camping at several annual music festivals.
Secretary – Kristen Lamkin
I am serving a second term as secretary at East Point Academy. I enjoy planning and participating in school events. I am married to Adam and have two boys ages 9 and 4. We live in West Columbia with our two dogs.
In addition to volunteering at East Point Academy, I like volunteering with the Children and Women Ministries at my church. I also love consignment shopping.
Treasurer – Elizabeth Hall
Hi, I’m Elizabeth and my kids are in 2nd Grade and K5. This is our third year at East Point Academy. I’ve worked for the State of South Carolina for 16 years. I am currently a Program Manager for Revenue & Fiscal Affairs Office, Health & Demographics Division. I have a B.S. in Mathematics from University of South Carolina. My husband’s name is Charlie, and he is an accountant for Nelson Mullins. We have one dog named Penny. As a family, we love spending time at the lake, kayaking and sailing. I love to sew (when I can find the time!). We are looking forward to great school year!
This year on the PTO I will be the Homeroom Parent Coordinator and also co-chair of the Teacher Appreciation Committee. I have two children at East Point Academy, a kindergartner and first grader. I enjoy crafting and event planning.
China Trip/Middle School
I’m a wife who married her BFF, Cy Early; 16 years this December. Together, we are raising two awesome boys - an 8th grader and 3rd grader. I also work full-time as an office manager/technical editor for an environment consulting firm downtown Columbia.
With a non-cliquey personality, I enjoy making memories through traveling and hanging out with my o’hana (family). I’m originally from Maui and I love to laugh! I also may be THAT mom who is cheering (okay, I call cheering, others might say it’s yelling) encouraging words from the sidelines at a soccer or basketball game.
I am thrilled to be a part of the PTO and look forward to supporting the EPA community, family and teachers; especially our middle school students, who will have the best cultural experience when they travel to China.

I currently work as an Admissions Counselor at Midlands Technical College; every day I can make a difference in someone’s life - is a good day! I have a passion for removing educational barriers for students. It’s my hope that as the Box Tops roll in a difference will be made in a student’s life at EPA. My hobbies include traveling, thrifting, sewing and decorating my home. This year will be great and I hope to meet you at the PTO events.

I am excited to be serving as the PR/Web Manager for the PTO at East Point Academy this year. In the past, I have volunteered my time to the school as the Box Top Coordinator for the primary campus, Homeroom Parent, Chinese New Year Committee, and with my favorite event of organizing the door decorating night for Teacher Appreciation Week.
In order to fund my volunteer endeavors, I’ve worked professionally as a graphic designer for 23 years and a web developer for the last 18 of those years in several industries including real estate, higher education, and agribusiness. I’m a full stack developer with a passion for clean and intuitive UI.
My husband, Chris Guida, and I are raising two boys. Our oldest is a senior in high school. Our youngest started at East Point Academy in 4K and is now a 4th grader.
